My name is Wayne d. Thompson. I am a nature photographer with a focus in landscape, wildlife and travel photography. Self-taught photographer, I began photographing the world around me over 40 years ago to document and share my travels and adventures. I have traveled, hiked, climbed, and explored in the Western U.S., Europe, Himalaya, South America, and other regions of the world.
The great photographer Minor White said when going out to photograph, “what will I be given?” Photography forces me to look closer at the details of the natural world around me. It’s about trusting my vision and perspective to create photographs that stimulate emotion, response, and curiosity. The results I achieve are the reward for being open to the outcome. When I’m open to the outcome I am surprised and gratified.
