Augustine Volcano after Eruption
Augustine Volcano is a 8-11Km island located in the Lower Cook Inlet apporximately 70 miles west of Homer, Alaska.  On January 11, 2006 the volcano came alive with an explosive eruption.   On January 25, 2006 I hired a small plane to fly me near as possbile and circle the volcano to photograph this incredible event.  Below are a few pictures showing the steam and ash flowing from the summit.
