Alaska's Katmai National Park and Preserve consists of more that 4.7 million acres of prime brown bear habitat. There are an estimated 4,000 bears currently living within the park and preserve, making it an area of with the highest concentration of brown bears in the world.

In June 2005 my wife and I spent four days in an area called Kaguyak and Hallo Bay to observe and photograph these Coastal Brown Bears up close and personal.
