Through his camera lens Wayne d. Thompson aims to capture the landscape of the human heart with tactile, sensory, and, often, painterly compositions.Recently, Wayne made the transition from 35mm slide film to digital imaging.
Wayne began landscape and nature photography as a way to document his travels.Having traveled, hiked, and climbed in the Western U.S., Europe, Himalaya, South America, and other regions of the world, Wayne was asked to bring his photography to the stage. With his California band, The Mountain Folk Singers, with whom he developed a unique brand of acoustic folk harmonies, he began displaying slideshows of his journeys in synchronicity with the visionary songs of the group. They were soon in demand across the Southern California region.From there, Wayne began exhibiting and performing solo in galleries, at fine art shows, and other venues.
In 2004, Wayne moved to Homer, Alaska, where he continues to pursue his love of fine art photography, music, and the outdoors.
